"Let's face the music / And dance"

She sang, she tinkled her Yamaha piano, she joked, jested, shared stories about her twin children, lavished praise on her set --this was how a concert is supposed to be. Death-'thank-you'-are-the-the-only-two-words-we-use-Cab For Cutie, eat your heart out. As Diana Krall's witty, mellow strains jazzed up Fort Canning for her encore song, roars of approval rose from the classy audience.

Behind, screams of Hamilton's Mclaren and Massa's Ferrari erupted from The Marina Bay Circuit. Like a magnet I was drawn to their fearsome race, and when I saw the cars blasting down our streets, when I smelt the rubber burning on Singapore tar, suddenly and strangely I loved this place. I even teared with pride.

A perfect evening : )
